Russian Salad

A Salad is a dish consisting of a mixture of diced pieces, usually vegetables or fruit. Russian salad is not only traditional Russian food but it is also very popular in Europe and South Asia. It is a highly nutritious food which is served as a starter or appetizer. Russian Salad is typically served at room temperature or chilled.


   1.   1/2 pack - Elbow Macaroni (boiled)

   2.   3 - Potatoes  (medium size - diced - boiled)

   3.   2 - Carrots (medium size - diced - boiled)

   4.   1 cup - Peas (boiled)

   5.   1/2 cup - Cabbage (diced)

   6.   2 - Apples (medium size - diced - peeled)

   7.   1 - Fruit cocktail (small tin - add only fruits without syrup)

   8.   2 cups - Mayonnaise (or as per your taste)

   9.   1/2 pack - Cream

 10.   1 table spoon - Salt (or as per your taste)

 11.   1 tea spoon - Black Pepper (or as per your taste)

 12.   4 - 5 table spoons - Sugar (or as per your taste)


  • Take a bowl and add Mayonnaise, Cream, Salt, Black Pepper, Sugar and whisk well.
  • Then add the remaining ingredients to it and mix it well until combined.

Your Russian Salad is ready to serve. You can garnish it by adding roasted dry fruits like Almonds, Walnuts, Pistachio etc..

If you like, you can wash the cabbage with hot water to remove the rawness and make it softer.
